3 Injured in Spanish Fork Canyon Crash on U.S. 6
Spanish Fork Canyon, Utah (October 8, 2019) – Three people were injured in a rollover crash on Monday in Spanish Fork Canyon, UHP said.
The collision took place on Monday, October 7, on Highway 6.
UHP said a dump truck pulling a flatbed trailer was heading westbound on the highway when it drifted off to the right shoulder of the roadway. The driver tried to swerve back onto the highway, but caught the lip of the asphalt and rolled over.
The dump truck whipped across both lanes of traffic onto the railroad tracks to the southbound side of the roadway.
An eastbound minivan was hit in the process, and it went off the southbound side of the roadway, landing upside down next to the train tracks.
Two people in the minivan were taken to local hospitals with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The dump truck driver sustained only minor cuts and scratches.
The closed both lanes of Highway 6.
An investigation is underway.
We wish the injured victims quick recovery.
