1 Killed, Three Injured in Wayne County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 24
Wayne County, Utah (September 28, 2019) – A man was killed, and three other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Wayne County, according to a local news source.
The crash happened at about 10:00 a.m. September 27, on State Route 24, near milepost 102.
UHP said the man was driving a blue Volkswagen Jetta eastbound, with his wife as a passenger, when he slowed down, almost to a stop. The Jetta was then rear-ended by a black Dodge Durango, causing it to roll over.
The Jetta driver was declared dead at the scene. His wife was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, with serious injuries. They were from Melbourne, Australia.
Two people in the Durango, from Austria and Switzerland, were taken to the Sevier Valley Regional Hospital in Richfield with minor injuries.
Officers said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
All the involved people were wearing seatbelts.
The crash remains under investigation.
