33-Year-Old Woman Critically Injured in Murray TRAX Train Accident on Vine Street near Murray Central Station
Murray, Utah (August 27, 2019) – A 33-year-old woman was killed Monday morning in a UTA TRAX train accident in Murray, a local news source reported.
The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. August 26, on Vine Street, near Murray Central Station.
Officials said the woman was heading westbound on Vine Street when she stopped on the far side of the gate arms as the train was approaching the intersection and she accelerated. She was then struck by a southbound Blue Line train.
The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Her 8-year-old daughter was in the back seat and suffered minor injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
