Philip Naclerio ID’d as Hit-and-Run Driver Killed in Salt Lake City Crash at 1815 South 4650 West
Salt Lake City, Utah (September 7, 2019) – The hit-and-run driver who was killed in a traffic collision Thursday evening in Salt Lake City has been identified as Philip Naclerio,57.
The crash happened on September 5, at 1815 South 4650 West.
Police said Naclerio hit an SUV on Bangerter highway near 1800 South. The SUV driver confronted Naclerio, but he erratically left the scene.
The SUV driver followed Naclerio and found him at 1815 South 4650 West sitting in his parked car. As the driver approached Naclerio, he noticed he was acting erratic, and he attempted to take Naclerio’s keys. Naclerio then accelerated, drove over a curb and crashed into the back of a parked semi-trailer.
Naclerio’s car went underneath the trailer, and he was killed in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
