Monticello, Utah (August 28, 2019) – Three people were killed early this month in a head-on collision near Monticello, according to the UHP.
The fatal crash occurred on August 3, on U.S. 191.
UHP said a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck crossed for an unknown reason into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a 1999 Ford Expedition towing a boat.
Kenneth Harding, 75, and Frances Harding, 73, of Goodman, Arizona, who were in the SUV, were killed in the crash.
Patricia Storm, 68, of Minot, North Dakota, who was a passenger in the pickup truck, was also killed.
The truck driver was airlifted to a Colorado hospital in critical condition.
All the victims were wearing seat belts.
Investigators are trying to determine if the driver of the F-150 suffered a medical condition, or if her driving was affected because of medicine she took due to that medical condition. The driver said that she has a history of having seizures and takes Klonopin when she feels a seizure coming on.
The crash remains under investigation.
