Sylvia Carrell Killed in 7-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Route 40 in Uintah County
Sylvia Carrell ID’d as Woman Killed in Uintah County Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Route 40
Uintah County, Utah (August 29, 2019) – The woman who was killed Tuesday afternoon in a seven vehicle crash in Uintah County has been identified as Sylvia Carrell,65, of Lapoint, according to the police.
The fatal crash happened on Tuesday, August 27, on U.S. 40, in front of Ute Petroleum.
UHP said Carrell’s car and five other vehicles were stopped in front of Ute Petroleum when a pickup truck, whose driver didn’t see the stopped vehicles, rear-ended her at a high rate of speed, causing a chain-reaction collision.
Carrell was declared dead at the scene. She wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Several other people sustained minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
