Taylorsville, Utah (January 13, 2020) – A man was killed, and another was critically injured in a T-bone crash last month in Taylorsville, according to the police.
The fatal crash happened just after 11:00 p.m. on December 30, at the intersection of 4700 South and 2700 West.
Police said Andrea Lane Miller, 39, of Taylorsville, was driving westbound on 4700 South when she ran a red light at the intersection and hit a vehicle that was traveling southbound on 2700 West.
The force of the impact pushed the southbound vehicle about 200 feet into the northbound lane.
Miller got out of her car after the crash and tried to flee the scene but was arrested. A semi-auto pistol was removed from the left inside pocket of her jacket.
The driver of the other vehicle, Ryan Muhlestein, 25, was killed in the crash. His passenger, Carlos Fregoso, 26, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Miller was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of automobile homicide, two counts of driving under the influence, failing to remain at the scene of an accident involving death, carrying a gun while under the influence, and running a red light.
The crash remains under investigation.
