37-Year-Old Injured in LaVerkin Two-Vehicle Crash on State Street
LaVerkin, Utah (September 1, 2019) – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in LaVerkin, according to a local news source.
The crash was reported just before 2:00 p.m. August 31, on State Street.
As per the report, a LaVerkin Police patrol officer observed a Dodge Caravan heading southbound in the street at more than 65 mph and pulled onto the roadway to catch up to the vehicle. As he did so, he saw that the van weaving in and out of traffic. The van pulled into the left-turn lane to pass a slower-moving vehicle, and it struck a Toyota passenger car which had been northbound and was in the left-hand turn lane waiting to turn.
The Toyota driver and a young passenger in the Toyota were uninjured in the crash.
The van driver, a 37-year-old, was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The UHP is investigating the crash.
