70-Year-Old Woman Seriously Injured in Duchesne County Pedestrian Accident at 300 West and 200 North

Duchesne County, Utah (September 17, 2019) – An elementary school crossing guard was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident Thursday morning in Duchesne County, according to a local news source.

The accident took place around 7:50 a.m. September 12, at 300 West and 200 North, near Kings Peak Elementary School.

Police said a 16-year-old was driving a sedan when they failed to yield to the crossing and hit the 70-year-old woman, who was escorting a child.

The impact threw the woman several feet. 

The victim sustained serious head and leg injuries.

The child was uninjured in the crash.

Police said early morning sun might have been a factor in the accident.

Charges are pending.

An investigation is underway.
