25-Year-Old BYU Student Killed in Provo Longboarding Crash on Stadium Avenue at Canyon Road
Provo, Utah (September 24, 2019) – A 25-year-old Brigham Young University student was killed Sunday evening in a longboarding crash in Provo, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened at about 8:15 p.m. September 22, in the area of Stadium Avenue and Canyon Road.
Police said the student was riding a longboard westbound on Stadium Avenue towards Canyon Road. He attempted to ride across Canyon Road and collided with a four-door sedan that was traveling southbound on Canyon Road.
The impact threw the student for several feet.
Paramedics responded to the scene and treated the student. He was then taken to a local hospital where he later died.
The sedan driver said she didn’t see the student before the crash.
The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) is investigating the crash.
