8-Year-Old Boy Killed in Weber County Bicycle Accident at 900 North and 4400 West

Weber County, Utah (August 23, 2019) – An 8-year-old boy was injured Thursday afternoon in a bicycle accident in Weber County, according to the deputies.

The accident was reported around 3:30 p.m., August 22, in the area of 900 North and 4400 West.

Authorities said the child was riding his bike in the dirt along the side of the road when he was hit by a car.

There are no sidewalks on that particular road, according to the officials.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Officers said speed or impairment were unlikely factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
