One Critically Injured in Moab Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 191
Moab, Utah (August 23, 2019) – A person was critically injured in a head-on crash Wednesday evening in Moab, according to the deputies.
The crash took place on Wednesday, August 21, on Highway 191 near 400 E.
Deputies responded to an incident where a person had intentionally rammed their car into another vehicle. An attempt to locate was dispatched to law enforcement. The suspect was later observed in the area of 400 E and a traffic stop was initiated by a Grand County Deputy.
The suspect failed to yield and continued southbound on Highway 191 and was pursued by Law enforcement for about 3 miles with emergency lights and siren in an attempt to stop that vehicle. The vehicle then collided with a northbound semi-truck.
The suspect driver sustained critical injuries in the crash.
The UHP is investigating the crash.
