2 Seriously Injured in Juab County Four-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 15
Juab County, Utah (December 2, 2019) – Two people were seriously injured in a four-vehicle crash Sunday night in Juab County, according to the UHP.
The crash was reported at about 7:44 p.m., December 1, on Interstate 15 at milepost 230.
UHP said a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu was heading northbound when the driver lost control, crossed the median and hit a southbound 2015 Audi, splitting it into two.
The right side of the Malibu came to rest in the median while the left half that contained the restrained driver flew across the southbound lanes and rolled over the top of a red 2011 Hyundai Sonata, occupied by two females.
The Audi spun off the roadway and stopped on the westbound shoulder.
The Sonata continued down the roadway where it stopped.
A Black 2015 BMW was hit by flying debris.
The driver of the Audi and the Malibu were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The BMW and the Sonata occupants were uninjured in the crash.
Investigators said alcohol and drugs were not factors, but speed was a factor in the crash.
The crash closed southbound I-15 at the Mona exit.
The crash remains under investigation.
