Benjamin Heber Killed in West Valley City Pedestrian Accident on Redwood Road

West Valley City, Utah (October 9, 2019) – The 13-year-old boy who was killed in a pedestrian accident Monday night in West Valley City has been identified as Benjamin Heber,13, according to the police.

The accident happened around 10:00 p.m. on October 7, near 3850 South Redwood Road.

Police said Heber was attempting to cross the street when he was hit by a car. He was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident.

Heber was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

According to Draper police, Heber had run away from the Juvenile Receiving Center in South Salt Lake.

The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

An investigation is underway.
