3 Killed in Head-On Crash on SR-89 in Kane County

Three Killed in Kane County Car Crash on State Route 89

Kane County, Utah (December 2, 2019) – Three people were killed Sunday night in a head-on crash in Kane County, according to the UHP.

The fatal crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. December 1, on State Route 89, near mile marker 34, north of Big Water.

UHP said a Ford van was speeding northbound on the highway when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a southbound Acura SUV.

The Ford van caught fire following the collision.

Three people were killed in the crash.

The van driver was airlifted to Dixie Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

A third vehicle, a minivan, which was heading southbound, hit the debris from the crash and became disabled. The driver of the minivan was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
